Confirmations for Online Exams


As soon as you enter the examination course in Moodle-Exam, you will submit two confirmations (I. on the legal consequences of cheating/attempted cheating, II. on the independent completion of the examination).You can only complete the assignments when you have submitted the two confirmations and when the examination time starts. It is therefore important to make sure that there is a green box with "Done" next to the two confirmations.

These confirmations have been coordinated with the Department IV Student Services and Academic Affairs and are part of the sample courses provided to the faculties.

Legal consequences of cheating/attempting to cheat when completing exam assignments during examinations

1.Examination law related
If the candidate attempts to influence the result of his/her examination performance by cheating, the examination in question will be graded as "nicht ausreichend" (unsatisfactory) (5.0) (applicable examination regulations).

2.Regulatory
Anyone who intentionally violates an examination regulation concerning cheating during examinations is in breach of the regulations. This offence can be punished with a fine of up to EUR 50,000 (Article 63 Section 5 S. 2ff Hochschulgesetz NRW (Higher Education Act)).

3.Enrolment law related
In the event of multiple or other serious attempts at cheating, the candidate can be exmatriculated (Article 63 Section 5 S. 6 Hochschulgesetz NRW (Higher Education Act)).
